Gallery Information

City Art Gallery is a fine arts gallery located in Greenville, North Carolina in the Lynndale Shoppes. The gallery features the work of established regional and national artists and craftspeople. An extensive collection of paintings, ceramics, sculpture, glass and photography is showcased in a light-filled exhibition space.

Each month, the gallery features a special showing of one or more artists. Each current feature showcases an exhibition, beginning with an opening reception with artists in attendance.

Who

Torrey Stroud, owner of City Art Gallery, has been in the gallery business for more than 30 years. Torrey founded City ArtWorks in New Bern in 1987, and ten years later moved the business to Greenville and changed the name to City Art Gallery. Torrey earned a B.A. degree at UNC-Chapel Hill and an M.Ed. degree at East Carolina University. She has served on the Council of Friends at Tryon Palace and is involved with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Pitt County through tutoring and art support. Torrey also serves as a member of the Collections & Acquisitions Committee for the Ackland Art Museum in Chapel Hill, NC.

Jordan Parah joined the gallery as an associate in February 2015. She is originally from Greensboro, NC and graduated from East Carolina University with a B.F.A. in Sculpture and minor in Art History. Jordan  creates metal fabricated sculptures at her studio in Greenville, NC. She also serves as a member of the Greenville Museum of Art’s Acquisitions and Exhibitions Committee.

Sara Hecker joined the gallery as an associate in April 2017. She received her BA in Art History from UNC Greensboro and her MA in Art History with a concentration in Russian Modernism from SCAD in Savannah, GA. From her studies in art history, Sara has a passion to learn and share the stories behind the artists, their work/subjects while infusing a little history into the mix. She has an extensive photography background.

Necole Ambrose joined the gallery in September 2012. She brings with her a wealth of design experience and energy. Necole earned a B.S. in Interior Design from East Carolina University and has years of experience placing artwork in clients' homes and offices.

City Art Gallery offers a wide variety of artwork for private and corporate collectors. It also offers design, consultation and installation services.
